HI trevor.
What stops working when the fuses blow?
All my fuse box lids have the relevant fuse designations in the inside of the lid so I know what item is blowing the fuse. ie radio, windscreen wiper etc.
Have you had anything installed recently in the vehicle, amp, radio, spot lights, duel battery system? Find out what stops working when the fuse blows and work backwatds from there, maybe the insulation has chaffed off the positive wire going the the suspect device.
Just beware, dont put a fuse with a higher rating in as that could start and electrical fire

Hi trevor, I prefer to keep conversations on the forum for future reference, here is the PM.
Hi NIck,
thanks for your reply ,no nothing new has been installed,i think it is to do with the 4x4 selector lights, what year is yours,do you have a fuse layout in the handbook as my fuse box has no cover so am a bit stuck.
many thanks
trevorv
What makes you think that the 4x4 selector lights are blowing the fuses? They are tiny and draw a negligible amount of amps when running, I doubt there is even a designated fuse for them. I can take a pic of the relevant fuse box lid for you if that would help. In which fuse box do the fuses keep blowing, the box under the steering wheel or the box in the engine bay near the battery? I have a 2000 model gen 3 V6 LWB as per my signature.
Ps. Photo's always help diagnose problems, so if you could post some of the problem fuses, I am sure some-one has had a similar problem and can help.

Hi trevor.
As per my previous post, please reply on the forum so that other people can refer to this in the future.
Hi Nick,
yes it's the fuse box under the steering wheel,if you could send me a pcture of it please, that would be very helpful indeed.
i think our vehicles are the same colour aswell, except mine is the 2001.
i think it could be the gearbox sensor switch causing the problem,as the centre amber light is flashing on the dash.
many thanks
trevor
Here are my pics. The fuse box legend is in the little cover above the fuse box under the dash. Which one(s) are blowing?
I doubt the cause of your fuses blowing is the flashing amber light on your 4x4 indicator, that is a sign of a problem in your transfer case. Does you paj go into 4H, 4Hlc, 4Llc easily and have you checked that the various 4x4 range sections work properly?? If it does then it is a problem with the sensor in the transfer case, search for 4ePikinini's trouble shooting post regarding this. Also look for the DIY on reading trouble codes by the same member.
Good luck, and remeber that pics always have in dianosing problems.

Cool
Please let us know what the problem was that caused the fuses to blow, for future reference, I am sure someone else will be grateful in the future.

My Pajero 2004 SWB 3.2. The fuse that feeds the dashboard has blown. Therefore the whole dashboard is dead. Any idea where the short could be?
