Hi Guys,
I must tell you my story.
I had a gen 2 SWB 2.8 Pajero(Dark green) for the last 4 years.I bought her with 120 000 km from a friend whom wanted to trade her in for a newer vehicle.I paid the same price as the garage would have give him for her.The only things was that I never had before diesel vehicle and it`s took time until accepted her character.During years we grew together and I really become found of her.She was reliable, robust, undemanding(still not talking about my wife)faithfull.Werewer we went with her, she took us back home safely.Year in year out,I had to just service it regularly and feed her with diesel and that was it.During the four year I lost 3 windscreen, replaced 2 battery and one set of brakepads.I replaced same glow-plugs,and the rest of the time she was going ,going.
And the last year come and we just passed the 365 000(!) km,when her END arrived. After that she was taking us to Botswana and back, twice to Namibia and back, let us to visit Vick Falls and Mozambic.Samewhere on the map on a nameless stupid gravel road, during a weekend outing, she turned belly up(with us inside). But even this was so slow and carefull
that the end of the day we, with my wife, we where absolute unhurt phisically, obviously not emotionelly.
Naturelly a repair was out of question, insurance paid out and grabbed the carcass with hurry, this made me realised the value she still had even in this condition.
Since, we had hunted down an other SWB 3.2 did. This one a GEN 3 model(black) She is beautifull, running like a clock, and strong like a beef. The millage 224 000 km.
Anyone saying that I am not believing in diesel Pajero?
Peter
