I didn't replace the pads so far,but it looks like it's time to do so....did you change them in the meantime ? I would be interested in the cost of the pads and where you purchased them...same model: GLS from 2004.

Re: Rear Brake pads replacement on GLX 2005
I dropped the Pajero yesterday morning at the garage in Spartan to change the rear brake pads and could pick it up at 16:00h, properly repaired and washed...

Total cost: R 497 complete, including R 150 for the work. For that money, I would not start trying to change the pads myself...

Hi MR2-Blue,
I agree, my closes garage is Misibishi at R1350 after which I desided to do it myself
Well, still planning within next 2 days

That's a lot, why don't you try an independent work shop. The one in Spartan (Kempton Park) I drop my Pajero for the services the last 2 years is very reliable and competent. I assume, your Pajero is out of the "motor plan" as well - otherwise you would not need to do the replacement yourself.

In Western Cape should be independent work shops as well.... ;) - I'm not saying you need to come to Spartan...but is a nice opportunity to see the soccer opening on Friday :D . The owner of the shop doesn't like soccer and has opened all day....he's a rugby wizzard.

What make brake pads do you guys recommend/use when not fitting at the dealers. I need to replace front and rear urgently!

Powerbrake, but they should be mated up with powerbrake disks

Powerbrake is only available on the front for the Gen3 and the cost is very much the same as dealers for pads only. Of course you need to do the disk as well the first time so it works out somewhat dearer.

Rear at the agents is about R650 but remember that they also have shoes on the inside for the handbrake which I think is only available at the dealers. Luckily the handbrake one lasts very long.

Other than that I don't know which other reputable brands are out there.
