GEN2.5 PAJERO 3.5L - OIL PRESSURE VS RPM
In an attempt to understand and be aware of what's happening with one's engine, could owners/"experts" kindly share their information and complete the table below

Just on the side: Mitsubishi Paarden Eiland said today that at idle the oil pressure should be 30kPa and at 3500RPM between 294 and 686kPa. Not possible to interpolate for obvious reasons

RPM OIL PRESSURE (Bar/kPa)

Idle
1500
2000
2500
3000
3500
4000
4500

Thank you and I look forward to your responses

Kind regards

Re: GEN2.5 PAJERO 3.5L - OIL PRESSURE VS RPM
This is not as easy as it sounds as there are a few other factors that would influence the reading from the gauge. On cold start the oil is thick and the reading would be higher than at idle after a bit of driving. As far as I know the mitsu engine has a 1.4bar oil sensor for the idiot light so that should be the absolute minimum that you would look for. On the other end of the scale you have a bypass valve in the system that prevents over pressure as that can also damage the engine so you would find that the oil pressure stabilises at a certain rpm range an does not go higher. On a hot engine running at cruising speed you would expect to find anything from about 2.5 - 4 bar as being acceptable and if it goes above about 6 bar that would be scary.
Wear on engines also affect the oil pressure readings as does factors like sludge and condition of the oil pump, I have seen a dump valve spring fail and nearly causing a heart attack due to a relatively new engine suddenly lose oil pressure.

The biggest bonus with an after market gauge is that you get to know what is normal for your engine and any unexpected deviation can be picked up before the little red light comes on to tell you that your engine is beyond all reasonable hope.
