Electric Fan versus Viscous Fan Conclusion
I went through the possibility of swapping my failed viscous for an electric fan setup. I eneded up buying a new viscous clutch.

In slow traffic a few days ago I got home and heard the viscous was blowing hard.

MY END CONCLUSION.....
I am glad I ended up replacing the viscous and not go electric. The viscous fan pulls ten times harder than the electric. I will gladly pay the extra fuel (if any) over the electric setup. I would recommend any who ask me to stick to the viscous.

Told you so!!!

Even at idle, you get more suck for your buck.

Imagine the heat removal at max torque-type revs :o

I think you made a wise decision there. The old story of being lighter on fuel does not hold water for me as you need power to spin the fan, viscous loads the engine directly and the electric loads the alternator which in turn loads the engine. There is no such thing as a free lunch
