Is there anyway to clean it up so it works normal again?Or is it just not worth it?

EDIT: My pajero sleeps in a garage every night - it helps reduce the harsh start ups during cold mornings which is when a lot of friction and wear occurs.

I cleaned mine up and it ran worse so I just blocked it again. Some experience better driveability after a clean but most just block it off.

i work allot better with pictures
would you mind posting a pic of the rubber pipe with a golf tee in it? :)

I left a piece of rubber on the actual valve as well and blocked it with a golf tee so no dirt can get in. The other end (bottom) that is blocked with a golf tee is to prohibit a vacuum leak there when the valve wants to open.

NB : The valve is closed by default.
NB2 : some owner's with later year models reported a check engine light when doing this. Hence why this is the easy way out as it's very easily reversible.

Any idea what a new one costs? Seems quite simple to replace.

These are the part numbers should you like to phone your dealer.

hey hey hey, picanini, let's not go crazy here, split the thread? my thread? let's keep it natural please. :P
(being said with humour)

first of all, i wanna thank you guys for sharing your knowledge with me, and gave my tips that worth time and money. from the bottom of my heart, thank you, you are all very kind, it's priceless.

about the break-in, well, iv'e found this article:
http://www.thedieselstop.com/contents/g ... l%20Engine
and i think this guy, also very useful.(again all being said with respect, i'm not arguing) and engine, every engine need some sort of break-in mileage.
read it, tell me what you think.

about the EGR valve, by disable it, does it increase performences?
it would seem so, but i can only assume.

well, thanks again, and all the best to you.

Re: How to maximize new 3.2 DID for the long run.
An EGR system that functions properly does not add performance. It helps emissions and to a very small degree aids fuel consumption.

However over time it clogs up and also clogs up intake systems, valves and piston tops robbing performance and economy and smoothness of the engine.

I see on the Ozzy and other forums that people are closing off the EGR pipe with a kit like this

Is this method then an over-kill as it seems that your method does exactly the same but at the cost of basically nothing!
