The overfill turned out to be 700ml-900ml (I supplied the oil @ R200/5L x 2). If you pay a certified guy/dealer good money to service your car I think it is reasonable to expect better quality of work than that - they did also forget to insert my disptick all the way in during a previous service - I then drove gravel roads for a week before I noticed it - they replaced the filter at their cost (or so they say). What else are they prone to miss if they can't check a simple thing like a dipstick? If the problem is elsewhere, then so be it, but I would still like to figure out what is what for future reference. No person is willing to give me a guarantee regarding the overfill issue and since it is my wallet doing the paying, I am careful.
I think we are getting too used to bad service and would rather keep quiet than make a fuss. Poor service is something I have come to know in the Lowveld the last 3 years.
