I agree with the guys , had exactly the same problem nd realised that they had modified the original thermostat, replaced it last week now my gauge stays at the same position and my heater is working perfectly as well after the replacing.
Hi,
I had the inverse issue where my gauge went totally over the red adhoc and then totally down into the white and all over the show, replaced thermostat, both sensors, had the radiator cored and cleaned, replaced coolant, replaced radiator cap, and problem still persisted. The little green PC board behind the speeod was faulty and had to be replaced. Engine was not running hot at all and was confirmed as the cause when testing with a different set of gauges from another Pajero and replacing the green board behind speedo resolved the issue.
Hope this helps someone, only small issue is I lost my kilo reading and that reset to zero - any ideas how to get it back?
