Thans Marius and all you other guys for the advices and recommendations! ;)
Jip. They can be very quiet.

This was my gen2 3.0 V6 30km after I rebuilt the entire engine.

nicomar wrote:Hi Guys, update report.

The heads has been pressure tested, skimmed and valves seated, new cam seals, valve stem seals and new lifters (big hole), all by engineering shop. All other parts ordered will clean everything tomorrow and then start assembling, replacing all water pipes etc.

Glad i have a good mechanic to do this for me privately!!! :D :)

Hi Nicomar - so did you fit the after market lifters at R40 each or the ones from the dealers?
Want to know how reliable they are...

Re: 3.5 HEAD GASKET, LIFTERS, VALVE STEM SEALS
Freshman yes i used aftermarket lifters from Masterparts, the new ones with the bigger hole and followed installation process correctly. They bare absolutely quiet now and you can hardly hear the engine running, except for a healthy growl from the freeflow exhaust!

will definately recommend it. :D
