Thanks Cloyd, I'll have a look when I get mine back from Silverton today (hopefully).
Hi all,
I got it back yesterday afternoon:
Invoice reads:
Remove & Refit Labour
O/Haul & Unblock Core
Test, Paint Dress
Machine Clean Cooling System
Remove T/Stat, test & Re-Fit
3L Coolant, Clamps, New Cap & Tests
R2907.00
They also put some new sponge to fill the gaps and also did the head-gasket chemical test – which was all fine.
I think the price is a bit high but too late now and as long is it is 100% now.
Will do another "Sani-Pass" test to check it out in the next week or so.
Thanks for everyone's input.

Glad it is sorted and now you have peace of mind. I had the same work done 1 year ago including a new thermostat and the cost was R1687 from Silverton Rad in Centurion, but they thought the issue was not resolved as my issue was a green board which went faulty behind the instrument cluster, but was good to get it all cleaned and checked in any event.
I always ask for a cost estimate before any work as well, which does help somewhat, and my radiator looks like new again.
Send some pics of Sani when you go there, always lekker to see.

It seems to be all ok now. I worked in PMB today and was stuck in traffic @ 41 degrees lots of times during the day and the needle did not go up a bit
Will still go do the Sani trip again very soon to make sure as the high altitude is bound to test it to the limit.
There are some pics of Sani in my trip report post here:
