Thnx for the offer nick but the connections are simple and only one wire needs to be cut and crimp terminals applied on the cut ends.
The rest is all relay connections and some wiring with about 30 crimping connections.
A bit of a faff but nothing too major requiring plugs and sorts. The only thing is if i end up making a few of these i may invest in a solder pot.

Been doing some reading and can definitely see the benefits of the Lock Up Kit. That nomad valve body (which in it's own right is attractive) is a tad on the steep side though. Seems it'll be around AUD 890.00 and that excludes shipping and the likes!
Looking at the whole picture - for me personally, I'm gonna wait for my warranty to run out first and then will seriously re-consider! Great work though 4ePikanini!

Do you know if these lock up kits are suitable for the Gen 2 3.0?
I can only find them for Gen 3-4.
If yours can be adapted I'm very interested.

I'm interested.
Thanks

I might just be interested once all the bugs have been sorted.
Its a great idea, however.

Right.
I have sourced a resistor that dissipates heat much better and have ordered a handful. It's complete overkill, but IMHO better that way as the last thing I want is a hot resistor in your center console.
This solves the little issue I have and reduces the loom back to 2 relays instead of three.
In a way this is better as the standard lock up is a PWM signal which means that even under ecu lock up there is still some slippage where the loom I create makes the torque converter clutch lock 100%.
I have been wondering about using this lockup kit in extreme cold conditions and wondered whether the atf might be too cold but then remembered that the ATF passes through the engine's radiator so it will stay at proper temp regardless of the cold but still a lot cooler then when constantly slipping - especially when climbing a long hill or pass.
I will make 4 or 5 at the end of the month.
Costs will be R1100 inclusive of shipping, with everything included for an easy DIY (wiring loom, more detailed instructions than shown here, pictures etc.)
First come first served on payment basis. If more are needed I'll make more.

Only 1 concern, wont this "eat"up the lock up clutch plates out what ever.
I'm asking this as I am wondering how long this will last as it normally lock up quite a few times a day and if you can maybe replace it.

No. It actually saves the lock up clutch plates. In stock form the ecu sends a PWM signal to lock up which means that there is always some slip on the clutch plates even under lockup.
With the lock up DIY mod you send an effective 100% PWM signal that locks the clutch packs 100%.
See the pajero workshop manual extract regarding the PWM signal to the TCC.
I also attach a brochure explaining the workings of a PWM TCC.

Thats good, but it makes me wonder how the clutch plate look like, I have 215k km on mine. Apparently the guy before me did a lot of towing. ( reason for bad consumption? )
I felt a big difference when I got into my friends Gen 4 on pull away, it feels as if "grips" more.
