Roelf,

Davidvan has hit it 100% on the "nail". My Pajero is also mainly used for tours, The only "treament" that it gats is a CTEC charge once per month - this I do even when we use it once in a while in town to get it out of the garage.

Thanks Cloyd & David

C-TEK:
Please elaborate on this.
1) Do you disconnect the battery from the car when you connect up the charger?
2) Is there a specific model or spec that I must be on the lookout for when I get one?

Roelf,

I connect it directly to the battery in the car without disconecting the battery and ...... sorry...., buy the best that you can afford.

Roelf,

Nog ietsie. After the starting battery is full - the green light on the CTEC is "ON", then it is turn of the second battery (deep cycle).

I do this about once per month for the Pajero, the Audi and the Cobra. The Cobra is used vary seldomly - mayby one tank of fuel per year and as yet, no problem whatsoever.

Cloyd.

The Ctek multi xs 7000 should do but you can also get the 25000 if like. You connect straight to the battery while in car.

Thanks guys.

Cloyd, here is the plan:
This year's Tie in the Dots you come through with the Cobra, you and your lovely wife hop in my Pajero for the mountain trail and on Sunday you and I take the Cobra for some well deserved fresh air.

Hi Roelf,

I have 2 C-Tek chargers, I use the XS0.8 permanently connected to the battery in Pajero (battery is not disconnected), and also have the MXS7.0 for faster charging and better battery maintenance for other deep cycle batteries. That works well for my needs so far.

Here is a link to the various C-tek chargers:

Cheers

Hello,

Also look at the Benton chargers Bx1 and Bx2. I have had the bx2 for many years and works very well. Bx2 charge 12 and 24v
They are also a third of the price of the ctek's.

Can get them online or from Familydog on the community forum
