Your offer, CasperA, was most generous, but I missed your post as I continued with the great tip given by sixmaniac. He headed me to Tygerberg Engine Rebuilders (TER) where I got the head done for just over R10K, and then Mitsubishi charged about R20K to do the replacement. Oh how sometimes I wish I was a techie and could have done it myself!!
This episode went on for months and months as I was overseas and there was no continuity while I was away, but I finally got a refurbished head from TER with all the components and have not had any problem with the vehicle since.
As I also have a 2015 model, I will be offering this one, along with its rooftop tent, for sale, on this site, if I can. (Administrators please advise).
If you know of anyone interested, please get them to contact me.
