Hi guys,

It took me a while but I got to rebuilding the 4M41 myself and started her up yesterday after giving in under the stress of Ms rapping me over the fingers. I am glad to say that she fired up first time with no imminent signs of failure. I took it for a 100 km test drive and found 2 small oil leaks that will be repaired Monday.

The proof will be in the next 15 to 20 k km to see if all is well.

It still baffles me as to why it happened as I took the pump and injectors in to be checked again and they were still well inside the performance envelope and returned to me with no cost.

same thing has just happened to my 32.di-d

guys can't find anything wrong with the injectors. please see my post "cracked piston" as well for further information.
