Hi Dave
I actually go to mitsu a lot and often feel the dashboards of the ones on the floor. It often surprises me that some dont budge when you push on it where it meets the window and some have a ever so slight movement.
It seems the sound dampening material used around the area has to do with this and over time as that section moves up and down it "flattens" the material slightly making the dash look as if it is shaking more.
The shaking dash it actually nothing more than the rear part of the dash flapping and this in turn makes the dash look like it is gonna shake loose.
I am hoping that by doing 10 individual cars next weekend we can really put a finger on this problem and offer it to mitsu as a solution for thier warranty clients.
I am sure that the guys will offer feedback after the repair..and if it doesnt work...well I will have to pull an ostrich stunt (head in the ground)
Hi John,
I am looking at getting a new Pajero to replace mine which the insurance company has just written off.
You mentioned pressing down on the dash at the window. Is this how I could test to see if I am going to have the same problem with a new Pajero?
Dave

I cant for certain say as I have not driven one that is tight at the window..The common denominator seems however to be the "loose" end at the window and the newer models are certainly tight in that area.
Maybe ask them to go test drive their demo and find some of those rumble strips in the road and drive over them.
However, there is a fix and we will perfect it and Im sure Mitsu will be willing to use the fix for customers in the future.
The Pajero remains a fantastic vehicle and value for money considering its competition and a small flaw should not put you off

This past weekend we applied a new fix to 12 gen4 pajeros up in jhb.All the participants are from the 4x4community forum. We are just awaiting some really positive feedback then i think i will try get hold of Mitsubishi and see if they are interested in offering the fix to vehicles under warranty.
Will keep you posted as to how the fix works

Dave.....Just checking in to see if you bought the new pajero.I am going to do a 2015 model that belongs to the DP at our local dealership.I have not driven it yet to see exactly what the guys problem is but he mentions the rattle and slight shake.Says it the demo vehicle and it putting clients off from buying.
Will give feedback as to the results when we done tomorrow..Seems finally mitsu realize the dash is a deal breaker

Ha... so they fix the demo and sell you rubbished one.
PS: I thought only software companies did that

I wonder if they will offer that fix to new buyers

It sounds like a possibility.
I however am wondering if I should not tell them to send the new owners to me rather
Then charge mitsu their normal labour charges at a full days work,as they would do to us?

As opposed to selling underpriced petrol? No doubt a good plan.
