Sounds similar.

My Pajero just felt like the throttle wasn't working. Everything was smooth, but whether I had my foot flat or at 1/4 throttle, it felt the same. Cleaning the MAF solved that immediately.

To test a faulty MAF, you can temporarily unplug the MAF, and your power should be back to normal (or much better). If you keep driving with the MAF unplugged, you'll eventually get a CEL (engine light).

It isn't dangerous to run with the MAF unplugged temporarily.

Maybe give that a try?

Thanks for the info.
Bought a can of CRC MAF cleaner & sprayed about 25% of the can into and around the sensor. Appears to have cured the problem.
You refer to the OBD2 - which one do you prefer?

I just bought a cheap OBD2 blue tooth adapter off Gumtree for R100 or so. Any of the ELM327 blue tooth adapters will work.

Then I use Torque or OBD Car Doctor on my smart phone.

So I went to Mitsitech recently for a service and remap to see if he can really add some torque to my gen4.1.

He did the remap but said that it was still down on power and torque. He plugged in his tester MAF sensor on top of the airbox and showed a much improved torque and power figure, so in the end I bought a second hand MAF sensor from him as well. The tester unit

Still too early to tell if torque is up to my old Gen3 standard, but it does feel more powerfull. Will have to go camping with my Xplorer for a true test.

On my OBD the MAF reading is only slightly more than what it was previously, but he said something inside ussualy blows, resistor or something, which mess up the readings.I would need to trust him on this untill I can really test it out while towing.

Also filled up recently and will monitor fuel usage.

Must say the man is passionate about Mitsubishis and seem to know his stuff.
