I also never had a ticking lifter.
My opinion is that delo 400 is perfectly suited to the 3.0 V6.

Thanks for your reply. My Pajero had a engin rebuilt on 165 000 km, i bought it on 187 000 km and now its on 220 000km. I dont know what oil was used until 210 000 km. On 210k i used HX7 for about 3000km, then i changed to HX5 (High Milage). Is it possible to just change again from HX5 to Delo 400 or how should this be done?

Bush Baby, I have no learned opinion to offer you on a change from HX5 to DELO. Is HX7 synthetic and HX5 a mineral oil? If so, then there is no reason not to change if you so wish. There seems a bit of a scare on some forums when you mix synthetic and mineral oils, so I wouldn't do that if I were you.
Now for a different story:
My 3.8V6 motor has (had, I think

) two strange intermittant noises. The first I noticed was almost like a soft "tappet" noise, but not at start-up - rather when I pull into my parking garage at work. I finally convinced myself that is related to the fuel vapour canister (most probably when it performs a purge). The second noise will occur at the second start-up in a morning. Best way to describe it is almost like a roughness. You hear/feel it inside the car, but when you open the hood all is quiet and perfect. Luckely it occurred at the dealer after a service, when I started the motor. I got the techy there immediately and the heard it as well, but couldn't even remotely pin it down. A decision was taken to keep an eye(ear) on it and at the next service replace all the pulleys with the cambelt. That said, it didn't have the pulley bearing symptoms at all, but seemed like a reasonable precaution. The DELO 400 15W40 multigrade went in on Saturday morning. Both those noises have not appeared since the oil change. I'll keep you guys posted if it returns or even better, if it is gone forever.

Hi there
How does Castrol Tection Global 15W40 compare to Delo.
I need to change oil on my shorty, and stock quite a few different oils. The raange includes Castrol & Shell synthetic, but am not sure if that's a good decision
Regards
Cas

Hi Roelf
The HX7 is a full synthetic oil (10W40) whereas the HX5 K High Millage (25W60) is a mineral oil. At the moment im quite happy with the oil. the Delo 400 is 15W40, almost the same as the HX7. Dont you think i will have the same problem as with HX7, topping up every 1000km?
