Broitman, if you are talking Gen4 are you not confusing the DPF (diesel particulate filter) with the CAT (catalytic converter) maybe? As Cats says, so far we do not believe Gen4 vehicles with DPF were marketed here. The DPF vehicles were also apparently fitted with a variable vein turbo in 2009.
If you definitely had a DPF was the vehicle purchased new from an agent and what year model is it ?
My contact for the dyno has gone and sold his. Does anyone else know of someone. Apparently Noise Boys in Hennops has one - anyone know them?
I don't know him personally but Alan Black in Springs has a dyno. CATS knows him very well I suspect ;D

Yes. Hey Cats with that set up of yours we can go & camp! 

So we are going camping this weekend. I did not want to tow with the poor vehicle performance as is so I replaced the suspect Suction Control Valve in the hope that it will rectify things. At R4450.00 from the agents it was going to be an expensive shot in the dark. I was able to source the same SCV from an alternative supplier at R2200.00 !!! I needed the pump number (eg 1460A037) to match the correct SCV from the supplier. The agents gave me a pump number according to my VIN 1460A044. Once you can actually see the valve you can read the pump number off the sticker there. Mine actually turned out to be 1460A022!
This is not an easy job. Suggest you use a fender cover. I have OME suspension which being higher made it that much more difficult to reach. You need to remove the battery, battery tray, unclip the pipes and wiring harness obscuring the valve, now you can see the SCV.
You need a small ratchet and a 5mm allen key socket to get the cap screws loose (difficult if you have big hands like mine!)
Clean the area before removal. It is easier to unplug the electric plug once the valve is removed. Fit the new gasket and O ring and fit the new valve. While you are about it fit a new diesel fuel filter. Return all pipes, wiring and battery to original positions.The vehicles Engine Computer Unit needs to be commanded to relearn the new SCV.
Now I test drove the vehicle while I was waiting for the diagnostic tool to charge a flat battery and the engine seemed quieter but performance improvement was debateable. We set the ECU to relearn and the wife drove it home. She was wide eyed when she got home - she said it was a phenomenal improvement. I was tired. When I hook the loaded XT120 camp trailer on Friday - that is going to be the test. Hold thumbs!!!!

Cats it is a std flow type SCV. I don't want to get clever with high flow SCV until my vehicle is well and truly sorted. The pump fitted is a Denso pump and the SCV is a Denso part. As mentioned in the post, the part number of the SCV you need depends on the part number of your specific fuel pressure pump fitted - so said my supplier - the part number of your pump is on that square little black sticker that is just next to the SCV.
As mentioned the agents gave me a pump number according to my VIN which was wrong. So rather get the pump number on your vehicle. The first price the agents quoted for the SCV was also R754.00. ie so don't trust them. The SCV is available from any Denso fuel pump part supplier.
