Tkx.

I'll have to start thinking about this at some point. Hope to be fitting air bags first, before April.

I added a snorkel and put 4 new mud terrain tyres on then it was time for a major service at 321 000km. An oil leak was also sorted out.

I had this horrible sound when turning my steering wheel on my 2009 Pajero. I ghriesed the rubbers of the steering column where it enters the firewall.

Now it sounds like a whole new car again!

Shew, it has been a busy week.
1. De-catted Pajero
2. Cleaned intake manifold up.
3. Changed out upper timing chain guide to new upgraded one, original was cracked.
4. Had injectors checked for spray pattern and pop pressure, all good.
5. Broke 1 Banjo and 2 Injector bolts off under rocker cover due to crappy torque wrench, had to extract and repair.
6. Bought 2x 4lt of DiaQueen ATF to do tranny oil change some time in the week.

Hi Nick,

You have been busy.

AFAIK you need a bit more than 8litres of Diaqueen if you are going to do this properly - i.e. full drain and flush.

The actual capacity is 10litres, although it seems that you can never actually get 10litres out.
When you drain you dump about 6litres.
So that leaves you only 2litres for any flushing?

Hi Andrew, I have half a tin left from the last time I did a flush with my previous Pajero, so I have about 10 or 11 liters here. The ATF is getting expensive, R 400. 00 a tin now... I found a caltex equivalent, but they do not bring it in to South Africa unfortunately...

Giving my Gen2 a new lease of life by getting some required bodywork and a complete sprayjob done... Progress is steadily taking shape and I can't wait to have a shiny new car in a few weeks

I have pajero 2001.Automatic gear. I just made over haul.and I made breakin with 5w-30 synthetic oil for 650 KM then changed oil to 5w-40 synthetic.then I drove a high way about 1200 KM. almost no change in oil level. but when I drove the same milage coming back I noticed oil consumption of about one liter !!!..immediately I changed the oil, but I didn't find synthetic oil 20w50 so I put the same previous degree. now I'm thinking about the overhaul is it failed? or I did a mistake to put thinner oil than recommended in the user manual??
some body please guide me.
