Re: Van Zyls Springs, shocks and spacers?

Thanks that is awesome, do you know if they have made before for Gen3 front and rear or need to take measurements still, I am keen to go get this done, so can pop past in the week if need be.
They still need to measure. I was hoping we had the specs somewhere here so I could send it to them to quote properly.

They are not majorly in favour of this type of lift, as explained earlier with the ball joints (and they obviously want you to buy their coils and shocks). But they are willing to make & install the spacers if we can give them specs - maybe you can get them to measure yours? (I should have done it today, since I'm not sure if the dimensions of the Gen3 and Gen4 would be exactly the same).

Btw, Darrell is a really nice guy. He took time to explain his views and educate an office johnny like myself. His sales guy is a bit aggressive with the selling tho...

As a note on the side - they reckon they can also give the lift using the bilstein shock alone (albeit much more expensive, I might go this route one day when my shocks are used up but spacers to be used for now).

Thanks, will go past and meet up with Darryl in the week, rather get measured up properly then know all is good. Would be a god exercise to measure and compare to Gen 4 as well, just to be 100% sure, even tho they should be very similar or identical.

Re: Van Zyls Springs, shocks and spacers?
Ok got some good news, met up with Skillie earlier in the week and he has the extreme edition Paj which came with the oem spacers for this model, he is not using these at current and should be picking up in a few days and can post details and lots of photos, havent had a chance to chat to Mikem, and will do so once I have the spacers, and get some final costing. May take a while as things are a little crazy at the office at the mo.....

Awesome :) Which model is the "extreme edition" ? Isn't it the Afrika Edition?

The only different Gen 3 models that I know of are:
- Afrika Edition (GLX with some off road extras, etc. - I think this one had spacers??? )
- Extreme Edition (GLS with extra chrome bits along the running boards, hard spare wheel cover, nudge bar, etc.) - Does this one also have spacers???

Re: Van Zyls Springs, shocks and spacers?
Hi Greg, ok so there is a possibility they are not OEM, will see when I am able to pick these up, would be nice to see the makeup and measurements and have a unit to work with and from. I am not 100 percent sure of the editions and may be mistaken here, so lets see when I get the spacers, and take lots and lots of measurements and Pics :-)

Re: Van Zyls Springs, shocks and spacers?
Just an update here, I have got a set of front Gen3 spacers from Skillie (Thanks a mil) and will be posting some pics here too. I have also met up with Uys to measure up the front and rear spacers for a group buy (alot of posts going on around this one at the mo), but want to consolidate here to finish off this topic. He has the emasurements now and will be able to makeup, and would be easier for a group buy. Waiting for costs and will post on here as and when we get them during the course of next week.

Will also post some pics of the front spacers I have received from Skillie.

Cheers

Re: Van Zyls Springs, shocks and spacers?
just a note. I tried fabing my own spacers - not happy so busy reverting to stock....

but the rears might be a simple DIY but the fronts need decent spring compressors to install a spacer.

I would have it done at a suspension shop.

Davidvan,

Do you have pics of the spacers? is it for front and rear?
