Hi guys, I have been offered a Garmin Nuvi 500 for R2100.00. Still in the box, looks like new. it has the street maps loaded but not the Africa maps. Do you think its a good GPS for on and off roading? and do you think its a good price?
Thanks wild dog.

That's a decent price for a Nuvi 500 which is IMO the best of the Nuvi's for our type of use.

If you don't want it, can I have it please? The closest I can get is R3300.00. I want that specific one cause I can use it for normal day-to-day driving, or rather my wife will, for offroad with T4A etc and then for on my boat as it is waterproof.

Thanks guys. I have bought it and it seems like a decent bit of kit. jaco_n, I got a price of R3600.00 with tracks for africa loaded from
www.techshop.co.za. I know its more expensive than your quote but the extra maps cost around R750 .
