Hi all,

I got my lovely 97 3.0 SWB a few months ago. It is a great machine and I have tons of fun with it but it drinks fuel like there is no tomorrow. the most I can get out of a full tank in town is 350km and I am very gentle on the pedal. does it sounds right? any way I can get improve it?

Thanx in advance for all the feedback

check the cap and rotor if it's the distributor version. Otherwise remove the leads and spray some wd40.

check the spark plug gaps.
check the air filter
check the timing
your MAF may be out
your CAT may be blocked
check tyre pressures and alignment.

do a search under my username. I have been doing a lot of small things lately to get my consumption down. I have managed to come down from 20l/100km to 16.5l/100km. I'm waiting to see what it does with the new thermostat and cleaned up coolant temp sensors.

NB: welcome to the forum! :)
