Just a thought , but something that could be useful if kept up to date - a rough idea of fuel prices in surrounding countries and far flung places. Something along the following format:

Maun - Botswana - June 2010 - PXX.XX = RXX.XX /litre (Petrol / Diesel) - (Unleaded or 50ppm available?)

Maybe a useful planning tool.

Another topic with border crossing costs (triptiques, 3rd party, road tax) hints and costs would also be useful

Mozambique fuel prices:

Looks like Petrol is 47.5 Meticais and Diesel 36.81 Meticais as at 27th November in main cities. Exchange rate is around 3.6 to 4 to the Rand apparently.
