Exhaust and fuel consumption

The center silencer on my paj was hanging very low and there was also a hole where the exhaust connects to the front silencer. The center silencer was also broken inside. Had it replaced with a cowley silencer that is slightly smaller. They could also mount it a lot higher so that its no longer the lowest point on the car. So far, so good.

The exhaust is now a lot more noisy with lovely V6 sounds coming from the back :). The problem is that the fuel consumption went up  . I'm now getting 18l/100km. Used to be 16-17 which I think is already very high. Should anything be done to tune the engine for the slightly modified exhaust, or will the ecu eventually learn?

the ecu will learn. the straight pipe probably flows better adding a bit of performance. If driven carefully it should better consumption but with the added performance it goes up mostly.
