it does make it look much nicer. 
cant say i am a huge fan of VW but hey never owned one so i will reserve my opinion for now

looks nice and must vastly improve the comfort on gravel roads with the much higher sidewalls

Yes, the conbination of BFG ATs and the Touareg's superb air suspension make the Touareg very good on gravel.
Not to forget the permanent 4WD.
