probably the only good thing about being unemployed is that you get to spent your time as you like.
today i managed to get the pajero through road worthy and spent a few hours watching a dude carry out my instructions regarding "opening up" my pajero`s pipe.
the first bit cut out was that ridiculous "pinched" y piece that the factory put in.then while i was looking around under the car i decided that the middle silencer should go and a free flow box put in its place.
the cutting with the torch was very easy, the unwanted dead weight fell to the floor with a clang.
matching the bends, openings and brackets wasnt as easy, huh, i didnt think this through.
about two hours later and six hundred bucks poorer i left speedies. [hardly]
the pajero didnt feel faster and didnt sound too different but just knowing that i cleaned its lungs out just a little, priceless!
still to do.
tinted windows.
suspension upgrade.
butch front bumper.
dyno tune.

Thanks for sharing.

I have now scrapped the idea of removing the pinched y-pipe on mine and I'll rather look at the intake.

looks clean :P

I want some more details on the battery tray against the firewall

I can understand that they removed part of the intake as it looks very restrictive. I still want to rack my brain and find an alternative at some stage but I want to retain the benefit of pulling air through that hole in the fender.
