I did it - 3.2 DID Free Flow exhaust

So I had my brother change the still original factory exhaust system to a free flow one. The pipe was a dia60mm and I left it like that - no need to change to a dia63mm. He took out the catalytic converter and replaced it with a resonator. The large middle off-center box was changed to a free flow one but he left the small back box as is seeing that it is a free flow box already.

Traveled 650km with it today and can say that:

*Better drive-ability through the lower rev ranges - it feels a bit more lively and responsive
*Seems like the fuel consumption also improved somewhat, but will confirm as the weeks go by
*There is a bit of a "growl" when idling (which sounds nice  ) but no difference when accelerating or driving.
*The exhaust fumes do smell a bit more now that the catalytic converter is removed

In my books an improvement.

It sounds good.
Did you cover more miles since?
Do you have part numbers of the boxes that you used?

Hallo Jurie,

Ja, ek het so 2 weke terug n' freeflow deur my broer laat opsit.

My opinie, gaan daarvoor, ek is tevrede. Laat weet wat jy besluit het.

Groete

John

Any update on this, John? Economy, power?

GJM,

I can feel a bit more power when accelerating and when driving int he mountains and get about 9-10km/l. Previously the car was a bit more sluggish going up hills/mountains and gave about 7-8km/l.

So yes, worth it in my books.

latest feedback on this?

I'm keen on deleting the centre big box that compromises ground clearance.

Would also liek to have that big box otu of the way as it looks way to vulnerable for rocks.

Hi,

Will it be possible to give a price indication for this conversion?

Regards,

A TD barely needs a silencer. The turbo smooths out the exhaust impulses.
Dump it!
