Modify - Yes Or No??????
:?: :?: :?:
Hi Guys,
I am on a topic of of modifications to increase torque curve.
I would like to know if cutting the camshafts to another degree of which I am not sure would decrease engine life?
As I understand it you can cut cams to obtain various different results. I would like to increase torque curve rather than speed.
And does it help to gas flow head to achieve results?
Does these modifications decrease engine life due to increased piston pressure and therefore decrease ring and piston life or is it really benficial?
I have done the chip thing and exhaust but still need a bit more torque for caravan perpouses.

Re: Modify - Yes Or No??????
I would not take on such a modification unless done by an expert. Cam cutting is a science and usually all that one does is to shift the power around, taking from one section of the rev range to add to a different section. Cost of a decent modification does not normally warrant the increase in power. With the mods that you have done the only bit of power available to you is in the intake system and gas flowing it is the only way of getting to it but as said it is costly and in my opinion not worth it.
