Hope someone can help me... I am stuck in Mozambique with a burst oil pipe from the turbo to the sump. It is only about 10cm long in an elbow shape.
I can only find one in emphangeni but it will take 5-7 days to reach me and I need to depart on Monday.
Any body who can DHL/Fedex such a part to Maputo?
(Hopefully I did not damage my engine... the oil light came on

)
It is for a 2001 3.2 DiD LWB Pajero.
regards
llewellyn

Anyone in Gauteng or MP who can help a fellow forum member - even if it is to get him on the road temporarily?

Had a look at my manuals and from personal experience the return pipe from the turbo does not have any pressure in it, it is a gravity feed with an open end in to the sump so in a crunch you can use any pipe to connect the two. The wrong type of hose will deteriorate and perish but for an emergency return trip you should be fine, just keep an eye on it so that it does not leak or have an obstruction blocking the return flow of oil.
If you are really stuck and can not find a piece of garden hose you can as a last resort wrap the burst one with insulation tape but this would be my very last resort as oil would make the glue on the tape soggy

Illec999,
Phone Gert at the Pajero scrapyard east of Pretoria. He might be able to help - normally it is better to go to the yard and look for the part that the phone him and ask him!! His number is 083 284 7734.

Thanks guys! If there is no pressure I will be fine, I shortened the pipe and clamped it down good. I was just worried that there is pressure as it leaked 5liters of oil out within a few minutes.
I will be going home on Tuesday and then try a permanent fixture!
