In short.
Get access to the crank pulley.
you will see marks on the timing case numbering -10 and 0 with a few lines inbetween.
remove the top timing chain guide
remove the side tensioner and reset
turn crank clockwise (removal of glow plugs makes it easier) until notch on crankpulley lines up with "0" mark on timing case
remove camshaft bolts all the way except for 2 threads
remove camshaft sprocket bolts
reset cams so that
- notch bordering second lobe from timing chain faces straight up (both intake & exhaust cam)
- align cam sprockets so that there is 4 links between sprockets inside timing punch marks (not including the link that the punch mark lines up with)
install top timing chain guise
install side tensioner
crank engine clockwise twice to verify marks
try to start
if the car is not starting then remove the cam sprockets, turn engine 360 degrees to line up again and reset cams as per instructions.
