Gen 3 3.2 Did radiator overflow bottle

Greetings all.
On the weekend I noticed that my radiator overflow cap had some green coolant leaking from it.
I removed the cap and checked for cracks etc.
I noticed that there is one rubber pipe coming from the radiator cap to the overflow bottle cap and then another rubber pipe leading from the overflow cap out and which goes down under the chassis. ie as an overflow outlet which lets excessive fluid drain away.
However, there is no pipe inside the overflow bottle cap down into the actual coolant....If I read the manual, it says that coolant must be kept between the min and max levels.
My questions is...how does the coolant in the overflow bottle get back up into the radiator?
A few months ago, I asked the dealers to replace my radiator coolant...have they perhaps left this pipe off?
Please can someone check theirs and let me know if there should be an internal pipe in the expansion bottle.
many thanks for your kind assistance.
