Nino,

Thanks for sharing, some very nice pics there, especially some of the bird shots! Nicely rigged Gen2, seeing a loaded 4x4 just sommer makes me ready to get away - oh, we are leaving in around an hour woop woop :-), Nice drawer system you have there too! Would you mind sharing some detail around your solar setup as well, would be nice to know what works and what doesn't from your perspective.

Cheers

David

Hi David

Thanks for the reply..... Yes, it was an eventful and highly rewarding game trip ( 4600 km's worth = total travelling time 3 days & 3 nights )

The only animals on my " must see list", which I didn't get to see, were the leopard ( but others did get to view, while I was there ), I don't know if black rhino are in that park ( but they're on my list too), smaller cats ( though I did have a fantastic evening sighting of a cerval ), more snakes, including the african python ( which I was assured, are in abundance in the hotter summer months)........ :geek:

All considered, I thought the weather at the beginning of October was the best choice, insofar as to being reasonably dry and moderate of temperature = less leaves and more game to see and to photograph, with relative ease, and NO MOZZIES .... !!! 8-)

All in all ..... I'm looking forward to the next trip ..... IN A PAJERO OF COURSE !! :D :D

Kind regards

Achille
P.s. ..... anyone looking for some booking or Park info is welcome to PM me .... :)

Hi David

My apology.... I seem to have absent mindedly omitted to answer your question/s

a) Drawer system - came out of a Disco 2 ... that had been sold, hence owner sold drawer system out-of-hand ( used 3 times ) ..... even the contours on the sides, match up to the Paj Gen 2.5 perfectly .... no mods were needed !! :) :)
It has a built in S/S table, 60lt water tank, accessible from the rear door, for water outlet.. 2x 12volt power points, and a ratchet-hold-down platform on top ... :geek:

b) I have an 80W solar panel, that I use to charge my National Lunar auxillary battery, should the Paj be stationary, and I cannot charge via the alternator.... I suppose it could also be used to charge ( if attached to the roof rack ), whilst underway, but the alternator seem to adequately top-up the aux battery... 8-)

Regards

Achille

Nino,
Who did your packing ? SWAMBO or you?
Maybe she thought 3.5 L is for 3.5 Tonnes- Just a joke
I love the Kruger.
Did you do the off road trip that 500 km thing :?:
Paj looks realy very nice. Can not wait for my spare wheel cover.

Hi paw_by_paw

Nope... I did ALL the packing. I took my elderly mother to see the game, as it's one of the few things she wanted to still do/see... :)
We did many of the gravel road trips ( I see the odometer read 4500 plus km, at the end of the round trip from CT ), and seeing as the trip up was 1900+-, the sum would add up very close to the extra 500km you mentioned.

Also can't wait for the spare wheel covers.... 8-)

Cheers
