EGT setup

I fitted a MGL Avionics EGT guage to my Pajero this evening. I connected all the wires and probes as per their instructions. When I connected the gauge the display screen did not light up.
I therefore checked that power was being delivered through the switch and through the plug that fits into the back of the gauge. This was all fine.
So I now need to ask anyone who has fitted one of these whether there is some "trick" to getting the gauge to switch on or should it immediately light up once power is connected?

Should work as soon as power is connected. Cant recall that there was anything funny needed when I connected mine.

Thanks CATS. That is what I thought as no description of "switching on" procedure in the manual.
Power is definitely reaching that gauge and at 12V so that can't be the issue.
I will have to try get someone in EL who has one fitted to let me put my gauge into their system and see if it then works or not.
If not then I will have to courier it back to CT and ask them to replace it.

Time to invite me for a braai over the weekend and I'll gladly have a look at it, along with the SRS issue.

Hi Guys.
I have been following with great interest the types of engine monitoring (EGT's, etc) that members have put into their vehicles. Any ideas where to mount the gauge/display on the dash in a Gen 3?
I am looking at the MadMan EMS 2 to keep tabs on my coolant, oils etc.
have a look here...

Suggestions/photos of where the gauge/display is mounted on the dash?
Thanks in advance!
Nick

@Nick. There have been some pics posted of where members have fitted. Some place them in the ashtray aera by removing that and making a new face to fit the gauge.
@Marius. Wish I could join you next weekend but have a commitment already.

Here are some sizes.
Face: 60mm x 60mm
Rear: 57.7mm round
Depth: 56 mm (including cable) mounted from front
Depth: 70mm (including cable) mounted from rear
Display: 38mm x 23mm
I thought of the tray underneath the LCD panel or under the Climate controls, but i think it is too big?
