I spend a weekend back in March this year at Pat Busch Private Nature Reserve.

It's just outside Robertson; good accomodation, great scenery and a short but challenging 4x4 route. Can really recommend it for anyone in Cape Town who is looking for a nice relaxing weekend away.

The route itself is a grade 4 route. It winds up against a mountain slope, with very loose surface, but a stunning view up top. The last climb is quite nasty - very steep, loose surface and deep ruts in the road. Really need rear diff-locks for this section, although the owner said that some manage it on momentum alone. (there is a turn-around point just before the last climb).

It's at this point that I chickened out - I'm still very new at offroading, and had only bought the Pajero a few weeks before, and didn't feel like damaging the car within the first month.

Beautiful scenery! We have such a great country!

I appreciate this wonderful country so much more since I saw what over-development does to a country (eg Thailand).
