DID Pump parts

Hi Guys,

I decided this weekend to chase the diesel leak on my 2004 DID. After removing the starter, I discovered diesel coming from the wiring at the back of the pump. It apears to be the "stop solenoid"( from the info I could find - might be called something else! Its situated at the back between the outlets to the injectors) that is leaking diesel past the electrical contacts.

In CPT there is no Mitsubishi dealer selling spares on a Sat, not to mention a long weekend in Dec, but apart from that, I can already hear them say on Monday: " Sorry sir, no stock in SA, ex Japan, 2 to 3 weeks"!.....But I dont have 2 weeks to sit around unfortunately!

Does anyone know where I can find one of these? (see picture attached)Maybe an old pump somewhere? I understand that this pump is also used in the 4 cyl BMW diesels? Zexel VP 44 if I have my facts correct.

Any info will be greatly appreciated, and I dont mind getting couriers involved to collect where ever.

The Di-D diesel pump is in fact a version of the Zexel VP44, which is used in quite a few vehicles, amongst them the BMW and Nissan diesels.

Take the part to a diesel specialist shop and they should be able to source the part for you.

The pump is a Zexel VRZ. Zexel were bought out by Bosch about Six years ago. Try Diesel Electric, I think their in Paarden Island ??? not sure but you should be able to find them in the book.
