Hi
Attached is a photo of how my viscous fan looks fitted to my Gen 3. The dealer said it is possible to fit the fam facing the wrong way which wil then blow air back at the radiator instead of sucking ait through it.
Please have a look at mine and compare with any of yours and if possible post a pic of yours that shows that mine is correct or incoirrect.
Thanks very much.

thanks CATS. stuck the lens below the cover when i took the photo. there does seem to be some damage to the radiator on the front and back so could be airflow problems causing the overheating problem

OK good. I just thought that yours does not have a cowling which could also lead to the fan not getting its thing done.
I also think your radiator might be at fault. But I dont trust radiator rebuilds. Had one done previously on a petrol Colt many years ago and in the end bought a new radiator from the agents. If one looks at the price compared to the kilos that a radiator sits troublefree in the engine bay, I say it is worth the money, but that is my 5c on the matter.

Thanks CATS. Fitted a new radiator yesterday and it seems to have done the trick. Doing a proper drive next week into the Kei so that will be the full test of the new system.

When it comes to cooling, don't take anything for granted. Test every component twice. Recently I have had a lot of problems with overheating (2,8 1997)after a complete engine rebuild. It turns out amongst others, that the factory thermostats are very iffy.
3 out of 4 were faulty out of the box. I have lots of other sad stories, but too many "engineers" to blame for the limited space here.
Cheers, Toprob

New radiator seems to have sorted out the overheating issues. Have drievn about 1500km since fitting it and needle has stayed below halfway mark.
overflow bottle is still filling up quite a bot but that could possibly be cuase by some air still stuck in the cooling system. Going to try check/address that tomorrow.
