Water drip with heater on

HI All,

I know there is always a drip from under my Gen 3 Pajero when the aircon is on but this morning I had the heater on and whenI parked I noticed a steady dripping from under the car (se pic showing drops on ground.

I climbed under the Pajero (under the drivers side - head to the front of the vehicle and on my back)and saw that the water seemed to be coming from a small metal pipe/outlet above the area where the gearbox joins to the engine (see attached pic).

Has anyone else experienced this? In other words is this a normal occurence? I live in East London (RSA) and it is quite humid here at the moment. Could that be a factor?

If the aircon is on you will have water dripping regardless of the temperature adjustment.

Check colour of water to determine if it's water or antifreeze.

Also add colourant (other then antifreeze coulr) to the washer bottle to check if its that.

Just to clear up I didn't have my aircon on this morning. Did have the heater on full setting with fan on full setting. Upon inpsection the liquid appeared to be clear and not the colour of the antifreeze I have (yellow colour).

Is this an overflow/drain of some kind? Any ideas?

Did you de-mist the windscreen? AFAIK the a/c is automatically engaged when you use the de-mist.

boy you are clever! yes i did have it on the setting to push the flow of air onto the windscreen. beofre i read this comment i earlier drove the car with the aircon on thos afternoon to check where that drip originated from. An hey presto it is form the same place.

Thanks Marius.

With all the heat issues etc I have had lately I think I am becoming a bit paranoid!

Looking fwd to seeing some of your pics from this weekend.
