Pajero 3.2 DiD 2003 won't start

Hi!

The engine just stopped when driving to home...
Used DIY trouble code detecting, here are the engine codes:
1) 17
2) 25
3) 43
4) 49

What could be wrong ? Could it be the same common "overhaul fuel pump" issue ?

not all issues are mechanical.

It may just be an electrical confusion.

Disconnect the battery for 30 minutes and try again. report back.

After battery being disconnected I am getting code 25 only.
Though, the car won't start.

does it swing over at all but doesn't fire?

25 is timer piston position sensor so it looks like the speed sensor on the pump is buggered.

looks like a similar story to this

Yes, it swings... and there is some smoke coing out from exhaust.
But it won't start. The car was taken to the workshop 2 days before it finally stopped - the reason was blue smoke from exhaust. They read codes 25 and 43.

Could it be really a sensor ? Can someone post a picture to get an idea where it is located ?

Switched over upper and lower speed sensor on pump, they can't be broken at the same time. Still the same - the engine won't start.

Now all I can think is :
1) Engine-ECU inoperative
2) Injection pump defective

do you mean that you swapped them around?

in that case it won't start. If one is defective it won't start. The ecu creates a sign wave based on the feedback from both pickups. BOTH need to be working.

Yes, they were swapped. If both need to be functional then the last attempt would be to get a new one(s) then.

Is there a method to "analyze" them, to be 100% sure that one or both are out of order.
