I'm thinking of replacing my air filter with a K&N or bmc air filter, any comments on this topic?

If it's purely for "never having to buy another air filter", then it's perfect.

If you want it for a power gain, don't bother.

I've had a replacement K&N filter since the first month of having the vehicle, simply to never buy another air filter again. Just clean it every now and then and all is fine.

Can't really say if it's more responsive, but along with the free-flow stainless steel exhaust the Pajero drives beautifully.

Thank ypu for your comment, I have a free flow on it, does the filter change the sound of the car and do you apply the oil on the filter after cleaning it?

The sound doesn't change at all if you just do the OEM filter replacement. The sound only changes when you put on one of those boy-racer cone filters.

To date I have not yet used the K&N oil since most of my off-roading is on sand. There have been no ill effects.
