I have a 1996 3.5 v6 and it has problem that we are unable to find! When accelerating slowly in 2nd, 3rd and 4th, it jerks between 2 and 2500 rpm with half second intervals. It is fine below or over that rpm. Anyone that can help?

Hi Renier

Have the same problem seem to work if you clean the connections on the coils.

After weeks of searching and changing every possible component on and around the engine by using a friends Pajero, I was still not able to find the fault. I was almost ready to accept the fact that this is how it will be! Then Dr Quincy's put my thougts in a totallly new direction when he said that it is not enigne related. Another search started, with lots of oother details, but I finally found the problem! It turned out to be the tyres, Continental Contitracts manufactured in 2003. It seemes that the tred is busy to seperate from the casing and in combination with the L/S diff causes the feeling of jerking. The good thing is, I now know the engine very well!
