I'm currently investigating different GPS' available. I know that most 4x4'ers use the 276c. I'm currently looking at the Nuvi 500. I need a GPS that I can use for on road, offroad and on my rubberduct. So it must be waterproof. Naturally I need to be able to load T4A on it ec. Any ideas? As cheap as possible please

hi Johan
Thanks for this. for the past year I've been looking at the Nuvi 500 especially that I have a boat I want to use it with. Does it do voice navigation as well or just the normal peep to attract attention? Do you know if one can add a normal SD card into it to load bluechart etc on it?

The 500 does do voice navigation and it does have a removable memory card (micro SD, I think).
