hi All,

I'm needing to get a 4m41 engine, where do I start looking. Current engine has cracked head so want to just fit another engine.

Ideas??

I know Engines and More in Harties had some at one stage, but the 4m41 seem to be expensive and somewhat rare to find. Make sure you get the right engine as non common rail and common rail differ a lot on the electronic side apparently.

I would suggest a re think on replacing with a 3.2. A couple of members have gone the Lexus V8 route and this seems to be a LOT cheaper option. Pricing on a 3.2 DiD motor is about R 35K TO R 42K. This excludes the diesel pump @ R 30k or service and recalibrate (engine specific pump?) @ R 13K! Ernie did his conversion @ R 15K including the gearbox conversion. Yes, using his own labour and workshop, us mere mortals will have to find a good mechanic to help us. I had a cracked head on mine, and it’s been in and out of the shop since then and costing twice what Ernies spent. And it’s just gone back!
