Fitting boost gauge to 3.2 DiD

Hi all,
I have a VDO Turbo Boost gauge (+25psi / -30In Hg) and I have 3 requests:
1. I recall reading somewhere that a diesel boost gauge should only have boost, no vacuum. The gauge is sealed, so I don't see it would make a difference, but I would welcome input.
2. Is this particular gauge suitable? ($US 4 second hand so it doesn't owe me much).
3. Please suggest suitable points to mount the pressure tube. Ideally I would fit a Tee into an existing line.

I'm not so concerned with accuracy, I just want to know if boost is On. I may then choose to back off and reduce fuel consumption.

regards
Bob

Your boost gauge will be fine. During idle the turbo is not providing boost and you may see a vacuum readin.
There are a number of small pipes controlling items aroind the turbo. Use one of these with a T piece for your gauge.
