Engine vibration while on idle / Io GDI Turbo 2000
Hi all:

I have a Pajero Io GDI Turbo 1.8 2000, which I purchased 5 months ago from a car dealer (in Auckland/NZ). When I first drive the car for testing, I noted the vibration and the dealer told me it was because the car has not been driven for a while (as the car was purchased by the dealer in Japan) and that it should disappear in a few weeks.

After 1 month driving, the vibration was still there and after 4 months of several things they have done to the car (cleaning every part you can imagine, replacing several parts of the GDI system, etc) the problem has not gone. Last time they tried to fix it, they replaced the engine mounts and it avoids a little bit the engine vibration to propagate through the chassis, but the vibration has not gone.

One detail is that the vibration starts when the car is warmed up and the engine goes to 350/400 revs max while on idle.

I wonder if this is a normal stuff for this car or if I really have a problem as the local Mitsubishi says it is normal.

What is the expected RPM value for this model when on idle? 750 revs?

Apart of this problem the car drives normal.

Any tip or advice will be much appreciated.

Thanks in advance.
