Shogun high idle

Good day

I am a "newbie" from the Isle of Man in the UK looking for help with a problem of a high idle of 11-1200 rpm on my 2006 Shogun SWB 3.2 DI-D Auto.
Obviously this creates "run on" when decelerating, being automatic, and towing a laden trailer necessitates lots of brake action!

My mate connected his Autoboss V30 diagnostic scanner which indicated 3 faults on the Cruise Control section, no's 15 CONT SW, 22 BRAKE STOP, & 23 ECI but it would not clear the faults.

The cruise control appears to be working perfectly.

Any help would be appreciated

when last has the battery been disconnected. After a disconnect it takes about a week to relearn the idle.

Does the idle differ between aircon on/off?

Problem solved... I think!

I was not aware that the battery played such a big part.
A couple of weeks ago I flattened the battery by leaving the ignition switch on for about 3 hours and had to jump start it, so that was probably the cause of my problem.
Having read several of your various posts, I decided to do the simple thing first and disconneect the battery for a couple of hours.

On restart, hey presto, idle went to 900 as normal increasing to 950 when the aircon was switched on.

It is brilliant to know that there are "experts" out there willing to help. Thank you

I have the same problem with high idle its above 1500rpm.
My battery was also drained a week ago and I had to jump start it.
Will the problem go away after some time as suggested in 4e's post or do I have to disconeect the battery for it to go away?

I tried the method in the owner manual, it states that you get the car to optimal operating temp then park switch off, switch on again and idle for 10min. but that does not work.

I was afraid of disconnecting the battery, due to re-setting some important functions. So i phoned the trusty mechanic and he said I must disconnect only the '-' cable of the battery leave for 5min. then reconnect. This resets the necesary stuff to factory default. I did this and idle is back to normal :D

Sorry for the delay in replying.... I was away from home!

In my case I disconnected both pos & neg, put the battery on external charge to ensure max voltage on reconnection. Left it for 2 hours, connected it again.... no further problems with the idle or any other systems.
