Hi all,
My wife arrived back home minutes ago with the bad news that there is no power steering.
I went to check the fuild which was all fine, also no broken pipe or so visible.
Then I stared the car and noticed that the v-belts were all standing dead still.
I switched her off and moved the belts by hand and tried again - this time they moved very slowly.
I take it that one of the belts lost it's tention.
Is it ok to drive to the Mack (about 3km away) like this tomorrow morning?
Cheers
Pierre
Hi,
Have you find the fault yet? If not, I think your crank pulley is broken.

if the v-belt isn't turning than the following items aren't working
- power steering pump
- a/c pump
- alternator
- viscous fan
I wouldn't recommend driving it.

Too late now
Turned out to be a small little pin/shaft on the bottom gear driving the fanbelt which caused the belt to freewheel.
They had to strip almost the whole engine to get the gear out and replace with a new one. Eish!
Fixed now
