Greetings to all, I'm from Honduras in Central America and this is my first post here, I hope you can help me with all your experience and expertise.
I have a Montero DI-D 3.2 2002 and I stopped using it due to amount of white smoke and poor acceleration, now is worst, a few weeks ago the smoke was only when coming downhill and then at the pickup a big pop of smoke would come out and almost anything when back to "normal" I had to disable the idle diaphragm otherwise the engine would become unstable and turn off. Now I only get about 1,400 RPM not enoght to ride anywhere. EGR is disable and turbo is repaired. Consumption of coolant and oil are normal. Suggestions?
are you sure the butterfly is open?
remove the intake pipe and ask a helper to rev the engine (make sure the car is at operating temp). See if it is open.

If not the butterfly, maybe a problem with the injectors, or worst of all the diesel pump. Have the injectors checked before you start fidling with the diesel pump. White smoke = diesel not being fully burnt = not enough air or too much diesel. But trust 4e's recomendations first...
If you can feel the grass between your toe's, your flying too low!

Marius, what is that cure for the throttle pedal again?
Sounds exactly like mine did when the connector was bad.

look under by the throttle pedal for the longish grey connector. unplug, spray with elektrokleen on both sides and plug back in making sure the connector clicks in all the way.4ePajero wrote:Marius, what is that cure for the throttle pedal again?
