High idle with a\c running

Hi
I was wondering if someone knows what controls the idle speed when the a\c is running? Mine is idling at close to 2000rpm with the a\c on-a little high I think? Its a gen 2 3l.

Mine on occasion also idles very high, but mostly when its 35° plus degrees outside.
