I inquired from the dealer on engine oil type and spec, as Mr MIVEC needs 500ml to get up to the full mark again (after 10k km). The answer is Castrol 20W50. Lucky me, I still have a can that used to sit under the seat of my 1991 Nissan Sani 3.0V6 5door .

PS: Or was that my 1988 4L straight6, pushrod, carb-fed Cruiser Stationwagon

I just had a look at the MAKRO catalogue, Castrol (GTX) 20W50 is the cheapest oil in the store. I also had a look at my April service invoice: the dealer marks the oil price up by 100% (if he sent a driver one block down the street to MAKRO to buy the oil ).
