Gen2 Conversion to diesel

Hi.

I want to convert my blister paj to a diesel. The one is already a V8 with a lexus and it is time to do the second one. This time I am looking into a diesel. 3.2 would be nice but unless I can get a DID for R10K I wont go that route. Any other suggestions? 2.8 is also way too costly at R19K for imported motor. The 2.5 TD looks like a option. Imported motor goes for R9500. The gearbox should fit or be exchangeable for one that does fit. The main idea for this one would be to use as a economical everyday runner. I had a corsa but due to the ever increasing safety risks we face on the road every day it has been retired. To replace it I need a good economical Pajero. Will handle the pot holes and occasional taxi  way better than the corsa

Any suggestions or info would be appreciated.

Have you tried "Part Hunt" for an engine?

Di-D for R10k? Not likely.

4m40 - Mmmm? I would not.

4D56 - maybe the latest CR engine, but the old injector pump? NOT!

Stick an Isuzu 2.8 DTi in there. Simple electrics, reliable as anything, and economical too.
